Lyra's Oxford Phillip Pullman

Lyra's Oxford is about a girl called Lyra who has a deamon, a soul in the form of an animal, that can go as far as away from her as it likes, thae same as a witches. When they see a witches deamon being attacked by a flock of starlings, they help it. When it explains that it is looking a man called Sebastian Makepeace they help him find it. When they reach the house they relise it was a trap because the witch had a son with Sebastian Makepeace and he had to be raised by the father. The son went to a war, lead by Lyra's father, and the witch relises that she accidently killed her son because he was on the opposite side from her. She blamed Sebastian and Lyra, because Lyra's father started the war over Lyra for some reason. The witch wanted to killLyra and have Sebastion take the blame for it, and this is where the deamon comes in. But when she is about to kill Lyra, a swan fly past Lyra and breaks the witches back.
