Garth Nix was born in 1963 in Melbourne, Australia. He worked in publishing and marketing before becoming a full-time writer in 1998. He writes fantasy books, the most famous being the Keys to the Kingdom series. Find out more at his website – www.garthnix.co.uk.

I have just read the book called 'The Creature In The Case' by Garth Nix. This book is part of the 'Old Kingdom' series.
The story starts off with Nicholas Sayre who lives in Ancelstierre. Nicholas makes a deal with his uncle which gives Nick the chance to travel back to the Old Kingdom. He has to attend a party at a country house....easier said than done as Nick encounters a dangerous, powerful creature from the old kingdom. He now faces the task of dealing with this creature and saving the world.
